About Me

Where It All Began

I received my first lever harp when I was 11 years old and instantly fell in love. Although I had been learning the piano and violin for several years previously I was ecstatic to learn such a rare and beautiful instrument.

I had the privilege of being instructed by several different and talented harp teachers who each helped me stretch and grow in different ways. Each of my instructors helped me develop new skills and techniques that have helped me become a very well-rounded harpist. This has helped me develop my own unique musical style to teaching and performing.

I have also had the wonderful opportunity to perform with several different groups. These include, Houston and Calgary based youth harp ensembles, the BYU-Idaho harp ensemble and various multi-instrument ensembles. I am currently a member of the Idaho-based harp ensemble, Nurture Harps and a co-owner of The Harp Shop!

More about me

Education and Experience

I have received years of private harp instruction from several of the top harpists in the US and Canada. After graduating from Brigham Young University in Idaho and being a member of the BYU-I harp ensemble, I was later invited back as the featured solo artist. I have continued to stretch my skills as both a musician and a teacher through performing with ensembles, community theatre performances, and solo works.

What Am I Doing Now?

Current Projects

The Harp Shop logo

Since 2018, I have been the 4th member of SouthEast Idaho’s Nurture Harps. In addition to having the privilege of playing with these talented ladies, I’ve also worked as our group’s videographer, editor, and social media manager. They have become wonderful friends and mentors. They are always so patient to put up with my crazy ideas, try out my latest harp ensemble arrangement, or play through something “one more time…”

In Fall 2023, I took another important step in my harp journey and officially opened The Harp Shop in Rigby, Idaho. Something that started as a faraway, distant dream has grown into a thriving harp community. As co-owner of our small shop, I now get to enjoy being at least a small part of so many more people’s journey into learning the harp!

After years of writing, experimenting, and testing, I am so excited about this new child-focused harp curriculum! The first three books are in their final stage of editing and are available for Beta testing. This colorful curriculum has been written specifically as another alternative to teaching young harpists. Teaming up with Justine Turcotte, I’ve co-written, planned, and composed the pieces throughout the books as well as fully illustrated this fun new series!
